This is the first album by Andy Hull as Right Away, Great Captain! It's a concept album about a sailor in the 1600s, with each song representing a journal entry to either his family or captain. It is more lo-fi than the second album, The Eventually Home, which is a continuation of the storyline started here. Right Away, Great Captain! shows just how talented Andy Hull is at songwriting.
