The Root’s ninth album, coming out today. On this album you might notice the collaborations with Joanna Newsom, Dirty Projectors, and Jim James, including Dear God 2.0, a superb mix of the eponymous Monsters of Folk song (with out the 2.0, of course). As with all good rapping, be sure to listen to the lyrics. This album is really something else. I don’t think you really need to like hip-hop to enjoy this album.
